GOAL AND OBJECTIVES

The overall objective of the project was to contribute to the reduction of the water and excrete born diseases in the target communities and thereby contributing to an improvement in the public health conditions of the rural poor in CHT

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Strengthened institutional capacity of community groups, WATSAN Committees, CBO and Union Parishads in community mobilization and resource generation for promoting environmental health sanitation and hygiene practice among rural community.
Improved hygiene awareness and practices among the rural community people especially poor through a community managed approach that is responsive to the needs, preferences and priorities of the poor and most vulnerable.
Safe water supply ensured among target population through installation of appropriate technology as per CHT context and demanded by target community.
100% sanitation coverage ensured among the target community people by the end of project duration providing health education and awareness rising for self installation of the same with their own cost.
