GOAL AND OBJECTIVES

The overall objective of the project was to contribute to the reduction of the water and excrete born diseases in the target communities and thereby contributing to an improvement in the public health conditions of the rural poor in CHT. Purpose of the project was to establish and promote a sustainable community-managed self-help model for safe water supply, environment sanitation and hygiene practices in CHT.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Establish and Strengthen institutional capacity of community based groups – the Community Development Forum (CDF) for promoting environmental health sanitation and hygiene practice among rural community.
Improve hygiene awareness and practices among the rural community people especially poor.
Ensure safe water supply among target population through installation of appropriate technology as per CHT context and demanded by target community.
Ensure 100% sanitation coverage among the target community people providing awareness, education and technical support for self installation of sanitary latrines.
